The SWAN – Scientific Workflow Analysis GmbH is a spin-off company of the Innovation Center Computer Assisted Surgery (ICCAS) - a centre for high level research for the medical faculty at University of Leipzig.
The two Managing Directors Prof. Dr.-Ing. Oliver Burgert and Dr. Thomas Neumuth belong to a small circle of international experts possessing exclusive know-how in the areas of medical process analysis and surgical workflows. They are the inventors and developers of the world's first methodology for process data recording and process data optimisation for the medical field.
The customers of s.w.an profit from the founders' years of expertise and their interdisciplinary team of experts. Each and every project is individually tailored to the customer and receives benefit from the well-grounded knowledge accumulated not only from the fields of medicine and process optimisation, but also from information tehnology, engineering and economics.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Oliver Burgert earned his Doctorate in Computer-assisted Surgery and Surgical Planning. He led the research groups "Scientific Methods" and "Therapy Imaging Model and Management System" at the Innovation Center Computer Assisted Surgery (ICCAS).
Dr. Thomas Neumuth earned his doctorate in Medical Technology in the area of Surgical Workflows and was the leader of the workgroup "Workflow and Knowledge Management" at the Innovation Center Computer Assisted Surgery (ICCAS) of University of Leipzig.
